Dr. Nick Loveridge-Easther
Dr. Nick Loveridge-Easther is a Specialist GP and Clinical Director of Coastal Medical Group. Originally from Nelson, he moved to Taranaki after medical training, drawn by its lifestyle and strong community. Passionate about innovation in healthcare, he is committed to creating lasting, positive change.
“Healthcare is more than treating illness—it’s about empowering people to live well and thrive,” he shares. At Coastal Medical, Nick is focused on building a future-focused, patient-first model, ensuring accessible, evidence-based care for all in Taranaki.
“The future of healthcare requires ambition and action. We must move beyond being the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. Proactive, accessible care—promoting health, addressing concerns early, and managing long-term conditions strategically—is key.”
With expertise in Skin Cancer and Occupational Medicine, Nick champions a holistic approach that integrates General Practice with Specialty Care, ensuring patients receive the highest quality treatment close to home. He sees Coastal Medical as leading the way in innovative, community-centered healthcare, creating a system that is impactful, accessible, and built for the future.
Becky Jones
Becky - originally from the UK, has called New Zealand home for the past seven years. With a background in Psychology and HR, she has worked across a variety of HR roles and is especially passionate about employee relations, shaping processes that genuinely work for people, and creating positive, supportive workplaces.
Dr. Shaun Butler
Shaun studied Medicine at the University of Otago, graduating alongside Dr Nick Loveridge in 2012. With expertise in Urgent Care, Paediatrics, and Clinical Governance, he became a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2021.
Currently an Advanced Trainee in Phlebology & Sclerotherapy with the Australasian College of Phlebology, Shaun provides specialised varicose vein and skin treatments at Skin on Forty-Five.
Beyond clinical practice, he is committed to medical education, serving as a formal supervisor for GP Registrars and Nurse Practitioner Interns.
Born and raised in New Plymouth, Shaun feels privileged to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to communities across our region.
Julie Karam, CA
Julie Karam, CA, CEO of CML, is a forward-thinking leader with an unwavering passion for people, innovation, and strategic performance. Initially brought on for a three‐month contract in April 2024—perfectly timed after a recent break when CML needed fresh leadership—her 20+ years in health, community, and corporate services (including 24-hour urgent care) quickly aligned with the organisation’s mission and the Directors' vision. “I came to do a short-term job, but I found a passion for the people and a clear direction for our future—I didn’t want to leave,” she reflects, knowing that the greatest asset isn’t on the balance sheet—it’s the people. “The culture at CML is warm and inviting, like a gentle embrace that inspires you to grow and stay connected,” she adds. With an unconventional approach that drives dynamic workforce development, business performance, and transformative innovation, Julie is fuelling CML’s growth and creating a vibrant, future-ready community.
